Crop diversification will boost of the production and prosperity among the farmers : Dr. Sanjeev

Under the joint aegis of the ICAR-RCER, Patna, and the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Piprakothi, a two-day training program on the " Crop Diversification : Methodology" commenced on March 19, 2025, at Piprakothi, Motihari. Around 20 extension workers and 5 progressive farmers participated in this program.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Investigator of the project and Head of the Crop Research Division, addressed the extension workers, highlighting the importance of crop diversification and its various technical aspects. He also discussed how an integrated farming system can enhance productivity and income. Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Piprakothi, emphasized the selection of suitable villages to ensure the success of this project.

Dr. Shivani, Principal Scientist, elaborated on the relevance of crop diversification in the context of climate change. Dr. Abhishek Kumar stressed the inclusion of agroforestry in crop diversification. The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Manish Kumar, District Agriculture Officer of Motihari, as a distinguished guest.

Experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra will also deliver lectures on various subjects during the program. The program is being organized under the guidance of Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna.
