ICAR–RCER, Patna celebrates 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic Spirit

The ICAR–Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on January 26, 2026. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR–RCER, Patna, followed by the National Anthem.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anup Das paid tribute to the freedom fighters and urged citizens to uphold the constitutional values and democratic spirit of the nation. He emphasized the invaluable contribution of farmers in feeding the nation and the Jawans in safeguarding the country’s borders against all adversities. He also highlighted the relevance of the national slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan” in nation-building and congratulated the scientists and staff of the institute for their significant contributions towards agricultural development, particularly for the welfare of farmers.

He stressed that the most effective way to contribute to national goals is to perform one’s own duties not merely as a karmchari but as a Karmyogi. He further highlighted the importance of Karmyogi values, Seva Bhav (spirit of service), and collective responsibility during the Amrit Kaal in building a developed and self-reliant India. He called upon scientists, staff, and students to work with dedication, integrity, and innovation in service of the nation and farming community. 

The celebrations were enriched by patriotic songs presented by students of the IARI Hub and children, which filled the campus with a sense of pride, unity, and national spirit. The programme concluded with distribution of sweets, marking the occasion with joy, unity, and renewed commitment to national service.

The Republic Day was also celebrated with equal enthusiasm at the Farming Systems Research Centre for Hill and Plateau Region, Ranchi, and at ICAR–RCER’s Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Buxar and Ramgarh.
