ICAR-RCER, Patna to Host National Conference National Conference on Environmental Stewardship for Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change Mitigation

The ICAR–Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna is set to host the National Conference on Environmental Stewardship for Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change Mitigation (ESSACCM–2026) from 22–24 January, 2026 in collaboration with National Academy of Environmental Science, New Delhi and ICAR-ATARI, Patna. The three-day national event will bring together leading scientists, academicians, policymakers, industry representatives, extension professionals and farmers to deliberate on innovative solutions for climate change mitigation and sustainable agriculture, with special emphasis on eastern India. 

The conference aims to deliberate on climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable food systems, green technologies as well as translational research & extension strategies for mitigating climate change impacts, with a special focus on eastern India. The inaugural session on 22 January 2026 will be graced by Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Bihar Animal Sciences University, as Chief Guest, along with eminent dignitaries from ICAR Institutes, Universities and other important organizations. Keynote lectures, NESA Award Ceremony 2026, and release of the Souvenir and farmer–scientist–industry will mark the opening day.

The event will feature four parallel technical sessions, poster presentations, and focused discussions on climate change, sustainability, green technologies, and policy-linked extension research. Renowned experts from ICAR institutes, BISA, universities and industry will share insights and innovations. More than 150 scientists, academicians and other stakeholders are expected to participate in this event.

The conference is expected to generate actionable recommendations for climate-resilient agriculture, farmer livelihoods and sustainable development, strengthening the bridge between research, policy and practice
