Students from St. Karen’s Secondary School interacted with the scientists of ICAR-RCER, Patna on sustainable agriculture
A total of 78 students belonging to Class VI and VII from St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna visited ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna as a part of agriculture education tour and exposure visit on September 24, 2025. A team of scientists welcomed the students and took them to the agricultural fields and gave exposure on the current research activities being conducted by the institute in agriculture and allied sciences. The students were shown different Integrated Farming System models and nutri-gardens developed by the institute. The field visit was followed by a group discussion in which Dr Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna interacted with the students and explained the students the role of ICAR in enhancing agricultural productivity which is not only in terms of quantity but also in quality. The students were very enthusiastic to learn about contribution of ICAR in green revolution, climate resilient agriculture, sustainable fertilizer usage on agriculture productivity, food and nutritional security.
Dr Tanmay Koley and Dr PK Ray, Senior Scientists, and Dr Abhishek Dubey, Scientist from ICAR-RCER, Patna coordinated the programme. Shri Princemon Antony, Ms. Shahla Raza, Ms. Shilpa Lata and Shri Abhi Kumar from St. Karen’s school guided the students to the programme.
