Students of Shivam Convent School Visit ICAR-RCER, Patna on Educational Tour

A two-day educational tour was organized for the students of Shivam Convent School, New Bypass Road, Kankarbagh, Patna, at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna. During the visit, students explored various scientific agricultural units and interacted with experts to enhance their understanding of integrated and sustainable farming systems.

Over the course of two days, a total of 298 students from different sections of the school participated in the tour. On the first day, 118 students from classes 6 and 7, and on the second day, 180 students from the pre-primary and senior sections visited the institute. They were taken to the Integrated Farming System (IFS) model, Nutri-Garden, Fisheries Unit, Livestock Unit, and various research and demonstration fields.

Throughout the visit, the students were guided by Sh. Abhishek Kumar, Farm Manager, and Sh. Prem Pal Kumar, STO. They explained the significance and real-life applications of each unit in a simple and student-friendly manner. 

The entire programme was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Sh. Umesh Kumar Mishra, and Sh. Vijay Babu Ram, who ensured the proper scheduling and management of the visit.

Dr. Anup Das, Director of ICAR-RCER, remarked, “It is heartening to see young students taking an interest in agriculture and allied sciences. Such visits help instill scientific curiosity and environmental consciousness at an early age. ICAR-RCER is committed to engaging with educational institutions to promote awareness about sustainable agriculture.
