One-day training cum animal health camp organized in Rampur village, Patna
One-day training cum animal health camp was successfully organized under the project “Building Resilience Model for Vulnerable Hotspots to Climate Change in Smallholder Dairy Production System of Indo-Gangetic Plain Region of India using GIS and Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping Approach”, funded by the National Agricultural Science Fund (NASF). The event was held at Rampur village, Patna, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, with the participation of more than 60 farmers. During the programme, Dr. Rakesh Kumar conducted an insightful session on various seasonal diseases affecting livestock and their preventive measures. He emphasized the importance of vaccination, hygiene management, and proper feeding practices to reduce disease outbreaks among animals. Additionally, Dr. Anirban Mukherjee, Principal Investigator of the project, elaborated on the economic losses incurred due to animal diseases and the impact of climate change on dairy farming in the Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP) region. He highlighted the risks posed by climate-induced heat stress, vector-borne diseases, and their adverse effects on animal productivity. The programme was efficiently coordinated and assisted by Mr. Ajeet Kumar Pal and Mr. Kumar Bikram, who played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. This initiative proved highly beneficial for farmers, equipping them with crucial knowledge on disease management and climate resilience strategies to safeguard their livestock. The programme concluded on a positive note, with farmers expressing their appreciation for the valuable insights provided.
