Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025” Begins at ICAR-RCER, Patna
The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign – 2025 began today at ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna with great enthusiasm and commitment. The campaign commenced with the Swachhata Pledge, administered by Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna to all officers and employees of the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anup Das underlined the deeper significance of cleanliness, describing it as not just a routine practice but a transformative social movement. He said that cleanliness is inseparably linked with public health, dignity of life, and the overall progress of society. A clean environment, he noted, reduces the spread of diseases, enhances productivity, and inspires a sense of pride among citizens.
Dr. Das emphasized that “Cleanliness is a shared responsibility of every individual—be it at home, workplace, or community spaces. When each citizen contributes even a little, the collective impact becomes extraordinary. A clean campus, a clean neighborhood, and a clean society ultimately pave the way for a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous nation.”
He further motivated the gathering by reminding them that the vision of a ‘Swachh Bharat’ is not merely a government initiative but a moral duty towards future generations. He urged staff and students to take the spirit of this campaign beyond the institute and spread awareness in villages, markets, and public spaces so that the message of cleanliness reaches every corner of society.
The Director also highlighted that this campaign would culminate on 2nd October 2025, celebrated as Swachh Bharat Diwas, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, whose dream of a clean India continues to inspire the nation. This year’s programme is being observed under the theme “Swachhotsav”, reflecting celebration of cleanliness as a collective festival of responsibility and pride.
Adding significance to the event, Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) and Director General, ICAR, also joined the programme virtually and administered the Swachhata Pledge online. In his message, Dr. Jat called upon all members of the ICAR fraternity to make cleanliness a way of life, reminding that small consistent efforts by individuals ultimately shape the destiny of the nation. “Under the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign – 2025, a series of activities will be undertaken by ICAR-RCER, Patna”, informed Sh. Umesh Kumar Mishra, Member Secretary, Media, ICAR-RCER, Patna.
